Wooden Buddha Figure

Elegant seated Buddha in the Mandalay style, carved in wood, lacquered and gilded, with delicate mirror and coloured glass inlays on the diadem, the robe and the base. His serene face and the earth-witness posture give him a serene and decorative presence. It retains a pleasant patina with the wear of time and some losses to the gilding and inlays. An evocative piece for collectors of Southeast Asian art.
